When we talk interior design no matter in what field, balance, emphasis, contrast, rhythm, scale, and harmony come to mind. In the Mortaz House, the client, who was a 70-year-old woman, asked for a cozy and clean house with high-contrast spaces and we were not allowed to make changes to the bearing walls.
The Mortaz house is 100 square meters and 28 square meters for the yard, and 15 square meters for stairs which are vertically connected to the roof. So the remaining 58 square meters were for the interior spaces.
Forasmuch as the house was designed with traditional Iranian architecture principles, the bathroom was in the yard which was pretty suffering the client.
With the low budget, we had to apply a better air conditioning system. so we replaced old fashion windows with double glazed windows, the old heater with wall mounted boiler with radiators, and applied wall mounted split. Also, we had to renovate the interior design for only 58 square meters. what shall we do now!!
